[12:27 AM EST - Maintenance. Finally!]

I finally scheduled an appointment to get my car maintained for today. I need to wake up early to go to the dealership, and they will give me a car to use for the day. But I need to get back to the dealership before six, because that is when the service department closes, which means that I need to leave work early.

Surprisingly enough, despite how tough it is for me to get up in the morning, it will probably be harder for me to leave work early than it will be for me to get up early.

In any case, by the end of the day, I should have my winter tires on, and I will be able to drive with impunity! (At least I will not be as likely to have those incidents I had this past weekend.)

So why am I still up?

Oh yeah! Squishy sent me e-mail.. last week, so I really should respond.. like now.

Right. Off I go!

[10:27 AM EST - I got a Yaris?]

It seems as if the fleet of cars that the dealership gives out for rentals was all gone, so they set me up with a rental from car rental company. Nominally, I would have gotten an 'Acura' from the dealership (so the lowest end would have been an 'Acura CSX') but I ended up getting a 'Toyota Yaris'. Ah well, at least I can test drive it, but it sure feels gutless after driving my 'Acura RSX'.

[11:00 PM EST - Time to knock off some chores.]

Okay, so I was able to get a few things done today. First of all, I dropped my car off at the dealership. As I mentioned before, they had no cars for me to use, so I ended up being dropped off at a local car rental place, and picked up a Yaris. The whole ordeal took about half an hour, which gave me half an hour to get to work from the car rental agency.

The traffic was atrocious! It took just as long to get from there to work as it does from my place to work! Actually, after looking at the map, it seems as if the distances are about the same. Oh well!

Since I had a rental car, I had the urge to go out and pick up food. The first thing that came to mind was: 'Poutine'. So EK and I went to the local 'Costco' and picked up an order of five poutines. (We devoured them in record time.)

I also got a call from the condominium telling me that the plumber was coming by to check my toilet. Of course, my place was a mess, but I really did not care. (Although when I got back, I did not notice anything different except for the fact that the toilet seat was up.)

I left work an hour early so that I could drop off the car and pick up my car before either the rental agency or the service department at the dealership closed (both at 6PM). I cut it pretty close. I blame traffic again.

But the upshot of all of this was that I was able to get to badminton early. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my wrist support at home, so I played left handed all night. My left shoulder and arm are so sore now!

After badminton, there was an impromptu dinner with some of the badminton folk. Our group went out for some 'pho' at a restaurant nearby.

I got home and put the summer tires into the locker, and now here I am trying to figure out what I need to catch up on.

[11:57 PM EST - Five minutes to go.]

I just finished a survey for the 'Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada'. More specifically, for the 'Ride for Heart'. Survey participants are entered into a draw for an 2GB 'iPod nano', but have to complete the survey before December 6th.

<- looks at watch.

Wow, that was close!
