[8:46 PM EDT - Guess what I forgot?]

I got up this morning, got my stuff together, and actually got out of the house at a decent time. Decent for this morning that is. With the lack of traffic on the streets, and getting all the green lights, I was able to make it to Laz's place in record time! Once I got there, I realized that I had forgotten a number of things: my running shoes (which I had reminded myself to bring yesterday), my helmet, and my biking gloves. Despite this lack of attire, I still remembered my dry fit shirt from last year and this time I decided to take off the jeans. (I had shorts underneath last year, but I'm getting too old for jean riding. Besides, it was going to be very hot!)

In any case, we headed down to HKL's place where we were to meet up with Derelict, 2046-LM, and our bikes. The place was kind of tight with some sort of film crew taking over some sections of the road. It took us a few passes before we found a spot to load up HKL's bike (the parking ticket guy was there so I didn't want to stop until he was gone).

Since we had registered already, all we had to do was to find parking (at the usual spot), unload our stuff, get ready, and go to the starting line. In hindsight, I think we should have got into line first (in the middle) rather than going to the front, but some of us had to use the facilities.

The weather was warm, but the skies were hazy, so we didn't have very strong sunlight, which helped a bit. Wearing shorts only this year also helped. There was no wind either, which made biking very easy, especially since I was drafting Laz for most of the ride.

Out of all of us, 2046-LM was the weakest of the bunch, and he kept getting further and further behind. We stopped at the second rest stop, and I suggested that we stop at the halfway point to see how things were going and for a photo op. So Laz, HKL, and I ended up burning on ahead to the rest station and hung around for Derelict and 2046-LM.

We hung around for over twenty minutes or so, even calling them on their cell phones before giving up on them. We had our quick photo op, and headed back to the starting (and finishing) line. We decided to skip the remaining rest stops. It wasn't as if the three of us needed a rest. (Each time I did stop, my muscles would start cramping up. So when I would start off again, it would take me five to ten minutes before I got them warmed up.)

When we arrived back at the finish line, we set up camp and Derelict and 2046-LM found us. Apparently they didn't hear my proclamation to stop at the half way point (although HKL and Laz did) and they just continued on. They must have slipped by while we weren't looking! *shakes fist*

Anyhoo, we picked up lunch, bumping into JH on the way - who directed us to where the lunch tent was, ate lunch, and then went to find more food. Well, more meat to be exact. So HKL, Laz, and I went looking for food while Derelict and 2046-LM guarded the bikes. Along the way, I heard someone say,

"That looks like [QYV]!"

So I looked around and saw SR! Apparently they were having lunch in the area, so I chatted with them a bit. We eventually settled on some Korean BBQ, but we waited for a good half hour after ordering our (take out) food before we received it. But, food was food, and meat was meat, so we chowed down.

WE couldn't think of anything else to do, so we dropped off HKL, and went home.

[8:47 PM EDT - Getting ready to reboot.]

I've moved the extra computers and equipment into my car for transport so that I can drop them off after I go and inspect the condo. The computer room looks so much cleaner now!

[9:32 PM EDT - It's been a long day..]

I haven't gotten much rest this weekend, so I think I'll call it a night. I've got an inspection coming up and some computers to drop off. Hmm, what else can I do?
