I've done quite a bit in the past few days and I've still got a lot to do this weekend. One thing I'm looking at is purchasing a couch. Apparently with the deals going on, I can get something that's basically at cost, do I'll probably have to do the deal sometime tomorrow.

Hmm, after I got out of work early (without lunch), I headed down to the bank to pick up those certified cheques. I was running a little bit late (twenty minutes) and depending on how long I had to spend at the bank, and how bad traffic was, I may end up being late with the lawyer. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to wait long.
I got the cheques in a few minutes. The lady was very good and efficient, so I was happily on my way and rushing off to meet my lawyer with the cheques in hand.
It wasn't much of a big deal to hand off the cheques to the lawyer, sign a whole bunch of papers, and get some stuff ready. I'll have to be back next week sometime to finalize the transaction, but from what I can tell, I'm just waiting for a phone call to tell me to go down and pick up the key. I think I'll also bring down some stuff to drop off at the unit.
But before I do that, I may look into cleaning up the place a bit. Anyone want to join me?
I think I'll drag down all my locker stuff. This would require me purchasing a lock of some sort. I'll have to do that soon..
Afterward, I headed up to HT's place for lunch. I hadn't been there for a while and wanted to ask him about some stuff.
There was still some food left when I got there and I got to chat with the group for a bit before heading off to the La-Z-Boy sale.
I went by the La-Z-Boy showroom and looked around. The place was dead quiet. I was the only person there, and after wandering around for a few minutes, the saleswoman came up to me and asked if I required any assistance. So I asked her about sofa beds, and she showed me around to some.
I caught a glance at one of those modular couch sets which is listed for eight thousand dollars.
Eight thousand dollars!! Good lord! I don't have that kind of money! However, it was half off, and without GST or PST, the couch is actually semi-affordable. Well, at least it's at cost, so I might go for it..
I went home afterward, with the express purpose of checking out my Brick preferred rates before doing a bit of shopping there, but then my dad caught me and we went next door to pick up the table. It'll need a bit of work to fix, but I think it should be alright. The chairs don't quite match with the decor, but I'll figure something out eventually?
After that, we picked up my mom (who was on a trip) and went out for dinner.
