[8:25 PM EDT - Wiped.]

Oi, I'm tired. I just got back from dinner. We (LY, ZanZan, DWC, LD, and some of LY's teammates) went out for dinner after the tournament.

I need a shower.

[9:51 PM EDT - Non-ultimate stuff.]

This morning, I wanted to pick up some gatorade so that I wouldn't cramp up like I did on Saturday. So, I drove down to the local grocery store and was shocked not to be able to find any sort of athletic drink! I knew Shoppers Drug Mart would also have it available, but when I got there, I found out that the place doesn't open until ten! Argh!

Eventually, I went to a convenince store to look for these drinks and bought two large bottles. As I was leaving the store, some Chinese guy came up to me and asked me (in Cantonese) if I knew Cantonese. I said that I knew a bit, and he led me into the bank vestibule and started explaining his situation. Apparently he had deposited money into his account, but he couldn't widthdraw it for five business days, he needed the money.. for something, I think it was medicine or something for a friend of his in the hospital. So he started asking me for my address..

I knew what was going on here. He said that he'd pay me back for any money that I lent him. Now I told him that I didn't have any money on me. (Well, not enough, but I didn't know the words to express that.) Eventually I was able to slip away while he turned to another Chinese guy to ask him for money.

Now, whether this guy was telling the truth or not, I don't know, but who the heck asks a perfect stranger for money? *shrugs*

Anyway, that was the extent of my non-ultimate activities today.

[Wednesday, September 29, 2004: Cancer can be beat.]

When I reached the park this morning, I was surprised to see that the place was already busy. There was some sort of dog event going on, and people were walking and driving in from all over the place. My usual parking spot had been taken over by this group of people so I ended up driving around the park to the designated ultimate parking lot. I was surprised to see how many of the lots were marked off for this dog show (all but two). Again, I showed up earlier than usual, but not so early as to look stupid. There were plenty of parking spots though, so I was able to find a good shaded area to put the car.

[Team Cancer - Zodiac 2004.]

I had a pretty good time, and we had a really good team. We had an excellent chance at the championships this year, but missed it by one point. However, we did manage to get third place, which is the best that Cancer has done in years (from what I've been told)! Yay Cancer!

Left to Right: LR, MW, Chevy (Actually a Taurus), Wheels, WR, TC, JB (Actually a Gemini), MS, DL, Me, NS (Actually a Leo).
Sitting in Front: Ginger and ZanZan (Actually a Pisces).
Missing: WM (left during third game), BC (worked on Sunday), and ST (no show).

I bumped into ZanZan and convinced her to play for us as we were desparate for women. She agreed and we got her one of our shirts (which fit like a charm). This was good since one of our girls had to go through physio for the first game. I met up with my team and we proceeded to have a game with Scorpio. We quickly went down 5-1 but somehow managed to battle back to take the half: 9-8. We didn't really look back after that, although the game was going awfully late. Normally, the time cap horn would go off ten minutes before the next game, and teams who were up by more than one point would win, otherwise, the hard cap would be one more than the leading team. The horn never went off. We continued to play past the hard time cap. It was 14-12 when we noticed, but we were also the only game still going on. We didn't stop getting points though, and ended up winning 17-12. But our next game began immediately after that. The game was against Libra, and I knew it would be tough as they were undefeated. TC looked at their team and mentioned that they were all fast. As if to prove his point, they immediately went up 8-1 on us. For some reason though, we didn't stop trying. We began to battle back, and after a 9-4 half, we battled back to tie it at twelves when the horn went off. Universe point. We ended up turning it over at their line, and I thought that we had the point when WM caught it in the end zone, but apparently he was out of bounds, and the Libras immediately took advantage of that to get a point and win the game. We were so close! None of us were particularly interested in playing again, but Pisces wanted to prove that the first game that they lost was a fluke and challanged us to a game, so we couldn't refuse. We lost one of our guys halfway through the game as he head to go for work, but we held on despite that to a 11-9 win.

[Sunday, October 3, 2004: After that..]

We were all pretty much tired out. LY suggested that we go out for dinner afterward, so I agreed to go and get some grub. We watched the final game, and it was pretty close. DeeL ended up getting the game winning point, but it was an exciting game overall.

We went to some restaraunt nearby which had an open patio where we could tie up Ginger. The food was really good, but then again, any type of food tastes good when you're hungry. ZanZan, LY, DWC, LD and one of LY's Taurus teammates came out to eat. I went home afterward to crash.
