[11:15 AM EDT - These scripts are making me thirsty.]

Argh. I wonder why I didn't use a consistent format with naming my variables in my scripts. It's very annoying!

So I've got first aid tonight, and I had forgotten that this weekend is a long weekend. I've got a couple of events to go to, so it won't be exactly restful. I also should find out what to do for vaccinations and stuff, but Hep A/B is a good start.

[4:04 PM EDT - The eyes have it.]

I forgot to mention yesterday that the receptionist asked for my health card when I was going to see the doctor.

R: Do you have your health card?
Me: Yes!
*sifts through wallet*
Me: No.
*hangs head*

Well, it happened again when I went to my eye appointment. It seems as if you're supposed to bring your health card to every single health related appointment now. Geez, I don't think I can just reitterate the number either, they want that tiny black stripe on the back of the card. (Maybe I could ake the stripe off and give it to them huh?)

My eye exam went pretty quickly. Apparently I haven't had a checkup in six years! Has it been that long? Geez. Apparently my eyes haven't changed much, but there was a world of difference between what I had and what I could get. (I'm -8.25 now apparently.)

The receptionist then went through the frame displays and started saying how good I'd look in rectangular frames. *looks in mirror* Uhh.. how about those rounded ones? Ooh, titanium! I was shown one set of frames which actually did look good and had those cool magnetic polarized lenses. *snaps on shades* There is no spoon. *tries to take of sunglasses* Uh.. at least they'll stay on when I'm playing sports..

One more thing, those frames actually fit my head. The ones I have now are too small. I guess I'm used to it now, but the ear hooks actually rest halfway up the shaft. That means that the frame is tilted forward a bit. I guess that looks kind of weird doesn't it?

Anyhoo, I got some price points for these plastic lenses and frames so that I've got something to go on when I go shopping for new glasses.

Afterward, I went by the local drugstore to pick up the Hep vaccine. I found out that my drug plan will not cover the cost, and I found out the cost was over $150! Erk. This trip is getting more and more expensive! *shakes fist*

I should start keeping track of these costs.. wait, I already am! Heheheh.

[4:31 PM EDT - So, why were my eyes checked?]

Oh yeah, the main reason why I got my eyes checked recently was so that I could get a new pair of glasses! I've only got one pair left, and they're sitting on my nose ATM so if they go..

The last time that happened was.. six years ago now. Yeah, I still remembering my shock as the bridge of my glasses snapped in two. Actually, it wasn't even sudden or anything like that. I found that my glasses were sagging funny so I tried to push them back into place and found out that I was holding to the two halves in each hand!

I think the alternating cold/heat from playing sports and the winter may have had something to do with it, but that's just a guess.

Anyway, I was pretty much hosed. I didn't have a spare pair and I wasn't going back to TO for a new set (or my old set) in the middle of the week so I wandered down to the Optometry building on campus (ain't it great that we have our own freeish clinic there?) and checked to see if I could get a spare pair, but I was told that they were all ugly and it was doubtful they had any of my strength, so I learned to walk around campus blind and wear one half of my glasses during class.

Ugh.. gotta go.
