[12:30 AM EDT - Holding the fort.]

Well, the day went by well considering that I was holding the fort on my own. Actually, I've done it many times before, except today we had an unusual number of calls all clumped together. (It's the hours of boredom inturrupted by minutes of pure abject terror.)

Badminton went well considering that I got to the gym at eight before checking the schedule. Apparently it started at 8:30 so I had plenty of time to stare at the karate kids wondering what the heck I could've been doing instead of standing around looking dumb.

I'm going to start working on positioning this year. The less backhand shots the better.

[12:53 AM EDT - Some science.]

I found this link on ArsTechnica on a terahertz camera, and the discovery of another Kuiper belt object at the ShackNews.

[11:57 AM EDT - It's only Tuesday?]

Ugh, not much going on here but work. I don't have anything planned for tonight other than finishing up the server upgrade and some script improvements. Hmm, it'll be my last free Tuesday night for a while..

[3:34 PM EDT - Do you know the muffin man?]

We've got Barney on the television every morning for the kid so I occasionally overhear a song or two from the rec room. Today, they sang "Do you know the miffin man?" and immediately I recalled that scene from "Shrek". Now I can't get it out of my head!

[9:01 PM EDT - If the media's bad..]

I was trying to finish updating my server, but when I checked out the media, the software told me that I shouldn't use it. Well, it looked okay..

So I popped the CD in and ran the installation program. It went fairly well actually, until it crapped out half-an-hour later. I was a little worried that it might've taken the server down with it, but it rebooted fine. Now I'm cutting another CD. Hopefully this one will be a better burn.

[9:09 PM EDT - Going on my first aid.]

One thing I forgot to mention last week was something that Dangerman asked. I was asked where I was going that night, and I said,

"First aid."

Dangerman had this shocked look on his face and exclaimed,

"You're going on your first date?!?"

No! No, no, no. (Heh.) No.
