[1:57 PM EDT - Platoon.]

Hmm.. I guess I didn't end up doing much last night. I was able to cook up most of the remains of my perishable goods in preparation for my impending week of mayhem.

I did end up watching quite a bit of cable television. I don't know why I bother. I don't usually get anything out of it, and all I do is stare. Actually, 'Platoon' was on last night on the History channel (one of my favorite channels). I didn't think I'd seen 'Platoon' before, but after watching it through once, I realized that I've seen bits and pieces of it here and there. What struck me the most was the background music for most of the tradgic events of the movie. It was the same song as the Homeworld theme. Although they used strings rather than choir voices, it still was pretty powerful.

The Homeworld theme is actually Agnus Dei (Lamb of God)-- I only know this because Hwan sent me the MP3 taken from the soundtrack.

Still, that's not saying much, since pretty much all Mass music has an "Agnus Dei/Lux Aeterna" part... so you'd have to know the composer. It's prossibly Mozart, though...

Actually, I'm pretty sure the tune you're thinking of is "Adagio For Strings," composed by Samuel Barber. It's superb.

(There's also a very good dance remix of it, but it might be an acquired taste.. And yes, I'm being serious.)
