I went to badminton after work, and the weather was pretty nice considering how wet it was outside. I played okay, and I got to talk to N a bit. She took my racquet when I was off for a round, thinking that it was actually better than the one she borrowed from JST.

I left earlier than normal because the motorcycle group was getting together for some Filipino food. But when I got to the restaurant, I found out that the restaurant closes at eight. They had planned to meet there at seven-thirty, so dinner there was out of the question. How many restaurants close at eight?!?

Well, some of us went to visit Windelynn who was sick with something. Then we headed out for some cheap Chinese food. Then I came home.

[10:27 AM EST - Age anchoring.]

There's an age distinction between the groups of people that show up at badminton. We have the parents who are mostly in their forties or up, and then we have the kids, who are in their early twenties. I happen to sit in the middle although I probably would be classed under the kids group as I am not a parent. (Not knowingly at least.)

I kept joking with the other kids saying how young they are and how old I was. N didn't believe me when I told her how old I was. I found that quite surprising considering that most of the people who I ask to guess my age are usually right on the money. It's quite rare that I find someone who thinks that I'm that much younger. I'm pretty sure I look my age, which is a good thing right?

Then again, I guess it also depends on people I hang with. If I hang with a lot of younger people, they'll probably think that I'm closer to their age. Ah, that reminds me of an article I read recently about Anchoring, and how it affects our perceptions of certain facts that we have no real idea about.
