[9:53 AM EST - _spin_lock.]

My server has been hanging every now and then by some sort of kernel spin lock which deadlocks the processor. I'm thinking that it is some sort of bug in the code but I have yet to find any information on it.

[10:08 AM EST - I deleted the wrong file..]

I deleted what I thought was a temporary file being used by my mail client. Unfortunately, it was actually the file that indicated which e-mail messages I had downloaded off of Gmail. What this means is that I've been downloading all of my saved messages from Gmail for the past twenty minutes, and I'm pretty sure I'll still be downloading for the next hour or so. This is annoying!!

[10:51 PM EST - Curl a little curl.]

I spent the day running little errands: breaking out the winter tires, shopping for milk, dropping off CDs, packing stuff to drop off at my parent's place. I never got to clean the apartment though. I got as far as the tub and that was it.

I did make it to curling however. We played poorly, as usual and as expected, but near the end of the game I suddenly realized how critical sweeping was, and I was able to use it to get two clutch throws in so that we got a point on the fifth end and stole one in the sixth so we weren't shut out.

I'm feeling a lot better about curling now, especially now that I'm actually throwing the rock with more stability..

[11:12 PM EST - That's why I don't get chocolate milk.]

My usual routine when I get drinks is to get a carton of chocolate soy, and a carton of lactose free milk. When I went shopping yesterday, they were out of chocolate soy, so I picked up a carton of lactose free chocolate milk as a compromise. This was a bit of a mistake. I could potentially use chocolate milk for cereal (if I was eating cereal - which I have not because of my braces), but I can't really use it in my oatmeal, and certainly not for my cream of mushroom soup.

Well, it's not like there's anything stopping me from using chocolate milk.

Hmm.

I think I have some experimentation to do..

[11:16 PM EST - Kiska smoked salmon.]

I just tried some smoked salmon that girl sent over some time back and it's actually quite.. different. For one, this smoked salmon is sealed in an air tight bag and not refrigerated. It's more of a canned product than a perishable good. Secondly, the taste is different than most smoked salmon that I'm used to. It doesn't taste very smokey. It tastes like cooked salmon actually. I think I'll be eating this with some toast and honey. (Plus my chocolate milk.)

[11:39 PM EST - They were on sale.]

Oh, I also picked up some floss yesterday. They are apparently designed for braces as they have a hard end which can be used to slip under the wire and make it easier to get the floss in between the teeth. I'll see it when I believe it.

[11:41 PM EST - There was technique involved as well.]

In addition to discovering the power of sweeping, I also worked on my throwing technique. I put the sliding tape on my left foot this time (since I am right handed), and I started with my left foot back to give myself the proper forward momentum and make myself more stable on the release. It has helped a lot and I feel much more confident when I make my throws.

Now all I need to do is make my shots..
