..and it's just about spring!
I'm going to be taking the night off from broomball tonight to rest my eyes, so that should give me some time to do laundry, clean the condo, and check out those computers that HaremPresident gave to me. I tried them out last night and one of the machines didn't even POST, one POSTed, but the 'CMOS Battery' was hosed and so I couldn't do anything with it, and the third couldn't find a hard drive so it wouldn't boot.
Hopefully I'll figure out what the problems are tonight and get something working. One of the machines seems to have a P233MX so I can upgrade my server slightly. Otherwise, the CD-ROMS would be good additions to my machines, considering that I only have two working ones for three computers.
We'll see what parts I can cannibalize..

Well, I was able to get one of the machines up and running (well, at least to the point that the hard drive was accessed). Apparently the hard drive cable was put on backwards, which explains why it didn't seem to boot. This machine's the best of the three, so I'm going to see if I can turn it into a decent server. I can pack nearly twice as much memory and a wee bit more power out of this computer than my current system, so I'll be working on it for a bit.
The other machine that boots seems to be working too (more or less). The third (oldest) machine seems pretty much pooched though. I'll probably be cannibalizing it for parts.
One of the things that most interested me were the 64MB EDO chips. You don't find too many of those these days, and there aren't too many motherboards that will actually take the memory, which is why I want to get this TX board up and running. I'm not sure if I'll notice that much of a performance boost, but every little bit helps right?

For those of you interested, I was on a regimen of eye drops for the past couple of weeks (and will be for the next few). The two most important ones that I took are Pred Forte and Ciloxan which I used heavily for the first week. I took some Anesthetic Minims that first day as well. Since then, I've been using a lot of lubricating vial (in this case Bion Tears (ir)regularly since then.
