Actually, they're pocket mitts, they can double up as heat pads in a pinch, so I've got something to put my hot pots on now. (I got them when I got the pillows since they were on sale, but the colour.. ah well.)

I got up a little later than I wanted to this morning, as I wanted to get down to KW early. But I also wanted to get the restriction removed from my driver's licence, so I headed down to one of the MTO offices to get my licence updated. There was one office on the way to Werdna's place, so I headed there, only to find out that I couldn't get the change done there. I had to go to the one further east. Argh!
So I picked up Werdna and headed to the other office. The place was busy, and I hung around for a while before I got my vision checked. The actual process didn't take very long but the last line of characters was a little tough to read. I guess I'll have to get used to not having vision as I did with glasses. Hmm..
So with that, we headed to KW.
We got there around lunchtime so we stopped for food before going to the hill. I also went to get gas, but wasn't really paying attention to the signs when I drove into the only empty spot. Apparently it was a full service pump and I got dinged an extra four cents. Doh! Ah well, it's a lesson learned.

I decided not to put on my jacket today and test out my snowboarding abilities (or lack thereof). So I wandered around and spotted a few familiar faces like TM, SR, and even AC! I was invited out to the banquet afterward, but I knew that I was going to have dinner with FlyingS and HaremPresident so I had to give a non-committal answer. (Probably would've been fun though.)
So we wandered around until we found HNT. He hasn't changed a bit, and he came out to join us after he had some lunch.
I started on the beginner hill and worked my way down. I think I forgot everything that I had learned in my previous four attempts at snowboarding because I was on my butt more often than my feet. I got three runs in before HNT and Werdna showed up. I was immediately given some lessons from HNT on how to snowboard.
We spent the next three hours working our way across the hill, from the easier runs to the hardest run at the resort, working on my technique and balance (I have a lot to work on when it comes to balance and technique). But by the end, I was feeling much more confident in my abilities, although the number of times I fell during the course of the training left me in fairly poor shape.
In addition, although I wasn't actually feeling tired per se, but I knew I was tired because I couldn't seem to control my turns (or my legs) on those final few runs I took, and thus had some rather spectacular falls by the end of the day.
Fortunately I didn't have to be carted off by the ski patrol. That would've been somewhat embarrassing. With that, we bid adieu to HNT and headed out to meet up with FlyingS at his new abode..

We checked out FlyingS's new place and marveled at the amount of floor space one could get with the money I spent for my condo unit. (Then again, I have enough trouble keeping my unit clean, so I don't know if I'd be able to maintain a house!)
He showed us around and we hung around his place for a bit before going downtown for some dinner. They wanted to try out a new Portuguese restaurant that had opened up down there and we were the excuse to go and check it out. The format was like this: There was a buffet portion of the meal, and for an extra fee, they will also include an all you can eat meat selection that was grilled rotisserie style.
The buffet was pretty good. Due to my limited consumption ability, I spent most of my stomach space on soup and seafood. But the meats I had to try out. They had steak, sausages, chicken, lamb, pork, and for dessert, they had this roasted pineapple. It was so good! I had seconds, and thirds, and fourths..
I think girl and BL had tried it out before on Brazil, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. Now I know how good it tastes, so I'm going to keep an eye out for it.
After the meal, Werdna and I headed to HaremPresident's place to check out his new place. We hung around his apartment for a bit and played a game of Carcassonne before heading back home.
I can't really remember the drive back. All I remember was that I was having difficulty staying up so I had to blast the cold air for a while..
