[9:27 AM EST - If you need to get sick..]

Don't get sick during March break. I had called into my family doctor to inquire about an appointment to check on this flu thing I've got, but I found out that he's away for March break. So I asked if there was someone else who could see me and I was politely told that they were booked solid. (Booked solid? But don't they have like.. five doctors there?)

So I tried to look for a walk in clinic where I can get checked at and my mom mentioned on near her place, so I was going to go except that I needed my Health card, which I had left at home. I found out after I got home (and decided not to leave since I was in no condition to drive) that the walk in clinic was also closed for March break! So I guess I'm glad I didn't go there either (and the sleep did me good too).

I'm feeling better now. I'm not sensitive to temperature, but I'm still coughing out minor internal organs.

This morning I could have sworn that I saw blood in my urine, but it might also because I was severely dehydrated (there was also blood when I blew my nose, but that disappeared too). Bah, who would've thought that everything starts failing at thirty?

[9:35 AM EST - That's what happens when you have kids..]

Hmm, GWG has a theory that people who hang around kids a lot tend to get sick more often. I'm wondering if my most recent bout of sickness was because of the two kids from Monday?

Well, even if they were repositories for viruses, I think I'm over the worst of it. (Then again, that was the same thought I had on Saturday..)

[2:56 PM EST - Honey and lemon.]

I didn't cough most of yesterday once I got home from work. I attest this to the possibility of the rather strong concoction that I put together of honey and lemon that I had before I went to sleep. (One part honey, to one part concentrated lemon juice, to six and a half parts of water.)

It took a while to go down, but boy, did I feel a lot better afterward.

I remember when Hazel made some honey sweetened lemon water for me when I got sick all those years ago. It tasted good then too.

[3:09 PM EST - It's 25% less filling!]

I had ordered an extra-large cup of hot chocolate from Tim Horton's just now. Imagine to my surprise when I opened it up to drink from the cup when I noticed that the vessel was not even close to full? In fact, the liquid level was more than an inch below the top of the cup, which results in a 25% reduction in total liquid volume!

I was told that it might be because of the foaming effect, but I think they're just stealing our money! *shakes fist* (Okay, I didn't actually pay for this drink, but it's the thought that counts.)

[Thursday, March 16, 2006: Coughy badminton.]

I went to play badminton despite my condition. I wanted to do some sort of exercise and keep active while I can. Well, I didn't play all that well, and I wasn't doing a lot of moving, but I did play..

I went to my parent's place to pick up some soup afterward, got some gas, and then went home. Then I went to deposit my paycheque and ended up getting stuck in a rut at the bank. (I stalled the car three times before I got out.)

Then I had this brilliant idea to try to finish off all my leftover solid food while I could since I was getting my braces tightened tomorrow. Unfortunately, I didn't have much of an appetite and I was tired, so eating became such a chore that I got sick just finishing my dinner. Urp.

Remind me to plan better in the future.
