[2:28 AM EST - Played pretty poorly.]

Ugh, I played really badly today during hockey. Fortunately, the rest of the team did well and we won our game (barely).

On the way home, some guy pulled up next to me and started reving his engine. I didn't make it out until the light and nearly turned green because my radio was on. I guess he was trying to race? Anyway, he ended up squealing his wheels while I sped away. Eventually he caught up with me and gave me the finger (which the girl in the next seat quickly brushed aside). Oh well.

[10:37 AM EST - Power required.]

Well, my dad took his multimeter and checked out the power supply. It's pretty dead. I'll need a replacement for it at some point in time, but I'll need another normal ATX power supply for the other machine which I can also use to test to see if anything else on this computer got fried..

[9:02 PM EST - I've got the power!]

It seems like Werdna had an extra ATX power supply kicking around so I'll check to see if it works or not.

[10:58 PM EST - Innocent shoes.]

I got my shoes back! Yay orthodics!

I went to watch "Ghost in the Shell: Innocence" with FlyingS, HaremPresident, Rowan Redfern, and Werdna. I ended up getting there a little late because a number of factors: Needing money, traffic, and going to the wrong theatre. It was all good though. We only missed the starting scene, and the theatre was pretty much empty anyway, so it wasn't hard finding the rest of the group.

The movie itself was pretty interesting. The animation was top notch. I haven't not seen anything else more well animated than this movie. It is, hands down, the most stuning anime anything I've seen to date. I couldn't find any fault with the animation.

The story, on the other hand, was very well done. However, for those expecting action and excitement. This is not the movie for you. This movie reminds me more of the pace that the Patlabor movies go at, and the script focuses a lot on the concept of soul and humanity. Watching this reminded me of the Animatrix - The Second Renaissance.

"B1-66ER testified that he simply did not want to die. Rational voices dissented: who was to say the machine, endowed with the very spirit of man, did not deserve a fair hearing?"

A scary thought indeed.

I liked the movie, but then again, I like those types of movies that pose political or philosophical questions. The movie was heavy with references to biblical or phisophical writings, but in the end, everything made sense. Things that you forget from the beginning come back at the end and I kept thinking "oh yeah!".

Anyway, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it.

Afterward, our motley crew went out for dinner. We wandered around a Chinese mall for a bit before settling down at a seafood restaurant for some grub. After which I got my shoes back, we did a bit of shopping, and then went home.

[11:09 PM EST - Stray cat tease.]

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that one of the stray's that was hanging around Werdna's house tried to get in. The moment the door was opened, it tried to leap inside, but I was standing there and it was intimidated by me. I tried to attract it's attention with my hand, but it was much too scared of me. So I backed away and it darted into the house. I followed it in and shoed it back into the vestibule where it spent the next five minutes trying to find a way out, clawing and jumping around more and more frantically as it realized that there was no escape. It refused any offer of food and began to scream louder and louder as it's terror mounted, but I waited and watched. Eventually it gave up and curled up into a ball so I petted the kitten (well, it wasn't that young, but definitely not an adult cat) until it was purring contently. It even gorged on the piece of chicken we tried offering it before. After ten minutes or so, I couldn't get the cat to leave even when I did open the door so Werdna shooed it back outside.

I'm such a cat tease.
