[Sunday, November 14, 2004: Going to the chapel..]

I got up late this morning. The plan was to meet up with FlyingS and Werdna and go out for dim sum before I headed out of town. Werdna showed up early, and FlyingS showed up soon after I had cleaned up.

We went to a restaurant I haven't been to in a long time, and the food was not bad. Afterward, I was able to get changed, packed up, dropped the boys off at the show, and then took off to the wedding.

I didn't have any problems finding the church, but I was a little worried that I was too early. I wasn't, but I was still earlier than to Vermont crew. When I arrived at the doors, I was greeted by the usher who asked me if I was with the groom's party or the bride's party. I truthfully said,

"Both."

To which he replied with,

"Which one do you like more?"

And I responded by telling him that I'll sit in the middle, which I did.

The ceremony itself was fairly standard, and smallish. Nothing too fancy to report. The reception was being held not too far away, so we headed back to the hotel to meet up and wait until reception time. I inquired to the cost of renting a room for the night and was told that the price would be nearly two hundred dollars! I balked at the cost and decided that I was driving home that night.

As I was the only non-drinker in the group, I was designated as the driver for the evening. So I ended up ferrying our group of people to and from the reception hall. The reception was pretty good, and pretty standard. There was a fairly wide range of age groups represented there, and our upper tier ended up doing a group rendition of "Skinnamarink" to get the newlyweds to kiss.

I had suggested doing the "Top Gun" thing, but nobody was really up for that.

Afterward, we hung around the hotel for a bit before I drove DE home and headed home myself.
