[12:04 PM EST - He-man huh?]

I don't know about you, but I'm glad I stayed out of the He-man craze. (I got the link from Dangerman.)

[6:33 PM EST - A Japanese Steak House?]

Hmm, I'm going to be having dinner with girl, Dangerman, Jules, HW, and HW and HW's BF at some Japanese steak house.

A Japanese steak house? Okay. I guess there's always a first time to try stuff out right?

[Sunday, March 23, 2003: Japanese hockey.]

I went out to dinner and the restaurant was at the other end of the city. Following the directions I found on the website, I drove down to the area and I was immediately taken aback by the lack of commercial buildings in the area. (It was already dark, but you usually notice these things.) Actually, the were no buildings in the area. The position that was marked out on the map was the middle of a park. When I got there, I remembered that I had an ultimate game there last fall. Suddenly, I remembered that Jules had told me that the restaurant was near Renforth. I also remembered reading an article online on how some mapping sites don't always give the right directions..

I was a little annoyed because all I had to go on was the address, and without buildings (being a park and all), it's hard to orient yourself. So I decided that I should turn around and go the other way. I pulled right into a side street, made a U-turn, and came back to see a "no left turn" sign. Argh! I decided to continue on and make the next available left-hand turn. I ended up going on a road which turned into a highway so I ended up following the road until I got onto the highway and tried this all over again. That's when I got a call from Jules informing me that girl and Dangerman had the exact same problem I had. She also gave me a landmark to follow (Tim Hortons - not the most unique, but it's at least a start). So I decided to drive along the highway until I got off at the Renforth exit. So I drove, and drove, and drove, and came up to the.. waitaminute. This is not Renforth.

Then it dawned on me, You can't get onto Renforth from the Westbound lanes, you had to be going East for the intersection! Doh! I didn't have much choice other than getting off the highway at the next intersection (ten kilometers away).

I eventually did find the restaurant. (I nearly passed by since I didn't see the Tim Horton's until the last minute.) The food was okay.

Hockey was afterward, and I got there early for once. Darned skates are painful when they're cold. The heat molded soles areso hard when not warm, and my feet were sore after wearing them for the first ten minutes. The game was pretty good, although I kept crashing into people and the boards.
