[Saturday, March 9, 2002: On the road again.]

I left for Michigan after spending an hour or so at the office to pick up some stuff (a note and some directions).

I stopped off for gas at a service station. I decided to go inside to use the facilities and I noticed on the door a note which mentioned to anyone on a sodium diet not to drink the water. Not to drink the water? I decided to try out the water from the fountain. It was SALTY! Ick! That water was pretty gross. Remind me not to stop by there again!

The drive was pretty much uneventful. I was able to reach and cross the border without incident. I think that was the only part I was worried about, after KM's border crossing horror stories. The weather was really good, but it progressively got more and more cloudy as the day wore on. Apparently it's supposed to snow soon. Hmm..

I did end up stopping for lunch. Actually, I was planning to go to Arby's after I had stopped off for gas at a Shell station. The strange thing about this station was that they were playing some orchestral music. For some reason, I had problems with the quick pay at the pump so I went in to pay for my gas. Inside, I saw that it was basically a restaurant cum souvenier shop, so I decided to have lunch there. The music being piped inside the.. restaurant was the same as that outside, but after a little while, I recognized the music. It was from Star Wars! (ESB methinks.) Actually, the music cycled through a number of movie themes including the Crusader's march. There was one song that I recognized but I couldn't place. It sounded very.. Soviet.

I picked up a few more postcards, and decided to try out the chicken there. It wasn't bad, although I probably should've tried out some of their powder. I don't remember what it's called. It's some sort of seasoning. It's pretty good actually. It probably would've been better when it's on the chicken. Anyhoo, I made it to my destination without anymore hiccups.

Holy crap, I'm watching the Avs and Bruins on ESPN and they're showing the game like a Hockey for Dummies book! Good grief! The show's called "Hockey Rules". The commentators will constantly explain the nomenclature that they're using while giving the play by plays, and a little popup window will show definitions for some hockey terms.

Trying to educate the American masses are they now?
