What the.. I could've sworn that I threw up an entry yesterday. This is very annoying. I guess I'll have to make up for it later.

[Sunday, February 24, 2002: Well, the plan was..]

I was planning to go skiing today. It was an amazing day for it as well. Sunny, blue skies, warm, and just ideal to be outside. It was very spring-like. I ended up playing some Civ III and by the time I hit two in the afternoon, I realized that I had some other chores to do: Clean the car, get a new helmet, and pay my bills. (I also got invited to go skating with Growly, SJ, girl, and Dangerman.) Oops. I also had a hockey game that night, so I realized that I had to sqeeze in everything.. which I did. Although I had to skip out on skiing.

Oh well, I've got skiing tomorrow.

[Monday, February 25, 2002: It's beginning to look a lot like springtime.]

Man, the weather was so nice. It was so warm and sunny. I really felt like taking my blades out of the closet and going once around the block. Too bad I had stuff to do. Well, when I went to the car wash, there was no lineup to get in, but I wasn't sure of what to get and how much it cost, etc. So I parked the car and walked in to ask. Basically, he pointed me to a sign on the wall which had your basic details on their services. I noticed that they did go into the car to vacuum so I decided to try it out. Unfortunately, by the time I got back into the car, there was a long lineup! I was only there for a couple of minutes! Nuts.

Getting my helmet wasn't as bad. I wandered down to Canadian Tire and checked their selection. They basically had none. Well, they had around six helmets, but they were all way too small. THat's when I decided to wander down to National Sports to check to see what they had in stock. There was quite a lot to choose from. They were displaying these funky transparent helmets. I overheard one of the employees mention that those helmets are exactly the same as the normal ones. They're just twenty bucks more.

Going through the wall of helmets, I noticed that the average price was in the seventy to eighty dollar range. Not out of my league, but I paid a lot less for my baby blue brain bucket. I wandered around for a while before coming up to a box that didn't quite look like the others. It seemed as if this was one of the older models. I tried it on. It fit good. I looked at the price, and it was WAY cheaper than the rest. I'll take it!

For face protection, I decided on getting a mask instead of the visor. After playing for several years with a visor, I wanted to go back to the mask. It doesn't fog up, it's more aired out, and it doesn't get scratched. We'll see how things work out.
