[Saturday, February 23, 2002: Lunch and a leap.]

The weather was just amazing! Sunny, a bit windy, and a bit chilly. Great for skiing. It's too bad there was no snow to ski on really. Having just waxed my skis, I was flying over the slopes. The snow was basically ground up ice, and combined with the cold temperatures, it made even the green trails as fast as the intermediates with my pre-waxed skis.

Whoa, it surprised me immensely, which is why I had a little trouble going down the diamonds. A little trouble, but not too much. Oh yeah, going off the jumps, I ended up covering way more distance than ever. I didn't think I was going fast, but I cleared the tabletop, and didn't lose too much balance. I think the lip isn't as pronounced anymore, but hey, this is good practice right?

I bumped into a mole on the way down. I didn't know it was a mole actually, I just saw a brown speck moving across the snow and collided with it when we crossed paths. I stopped to investigate, but the thing wasn't fazed. It pulled a 180 and zoomed out of there. Those critters can move pretty fast huh?
