[10:06 AM EDT - Sunny and sore.]

Yikes, I wanted to stay in bed this morning. I felt a little sore after this weekend's activities. Despite the good weather, I decided to drive to work. I figured that ultimate and badminton tonight would be more than enough punishment for me today.

[12:04 PM EDT - Homo Ludens.]

Hey, after looking around, I've decided that I'm going to check out PHP sometime in the near future. Currently, there's no real need for me to learn it, but since the Forum's kind of clunky in it's current HTML/Perl state, using something a bit more interactive has it's advantages. I may also port my journal onto a database. MySQL sounds like the ticket, and since I'm learning a lot about MSSQL, I should be able to get the hang of it pretty easilly. But, first thing's first, PHP. I guess I'll be spending my free time looking it up huh?

[11:24 PM EDT - That was close..]

I went to play ultimate this afternoon. I left work a little later than usual, but since I drove, I was able to make it to the field in good time. There were some familiar faces down there (although the names that were attached to those faces were a little harder to dredge from memory) and some new ones. (It seems to be starting to catch on..) So we played for a good hour and a half or so. Good exercise. I'm slowly getting my ultimate legs back again. (And nearly lost it when I nearly sprained my ankle.)

Going back home on the highway, I was passing a slow moving van on the outside lane. (Yeah, yeah, bad idea.) Since my lane was exiting, I switched into the inner lane in front of the van, planning to switch into another inner lane because I saw that the cars ahead were slowing down. Once I switched lanes, I caught the glimpse of a car in my blind spot, so I decided not to switch the second time. By the time I had shifted my focus back forward, I saw that the car ahead of me had stopped.

Station wagons are not known to stop on a dime. I hit the breaks and realized that I wasn't going to make it. At that moment, the car that was in my blind spot was passing me, and I knew that this was going to be close. I swerved left, screeching my tires, narrowly missing the car in front, and just pulling behind the car that was on my left, leaving behind a trail of smoke and rubber for the witnesses behind me.

I think I burned off a lot of karma on that one.

I got back to rest and reflect on that moment before I headed out to badminton. There were a number of new faces there. They were all better than me. That's okay, since I needed the practice. I found out while I was there that today's session actually started at seven (well, it was supposed to start at six-thirty). Wha..? Apparently, karate classes were done for the year, so we were usurping some of their time. So it seems as if there's going to be badminton this Wednesday from six-thirty to ten-thirty. Four hours of badminton?!? Oi..

(But how can I say no?)

[11:36 PM EDT - Bake him away toys.]

Hey, Laz might be interested in getting another degree sometime in the near future. In worldly news, I came across this arrest on the ShackNews. Uh.. sure he did what they said he did.. (No, we don't need scapegoats.. no no..)
