I had my dental checkup this morning. I had completely forgotten about it until I got a call from the dentist's office earlier this week. It could have conflicted with the LAN party, but I expected people to show up late as usual. However, I found out that CY had to be in town early in the morning, and there was no point for him to go home only to come back, so I told him that he could drop by my place early.
I decided to ride, since the weather was pretty decent and I wanted to get as much riding time as I possibly could before it got too cold. I arrived on time, but had to wait for a while before I was able to go in. The appointment was pretty quick, although at one point when she was polishing my teeth, she switched the heads on the device and started.. cleaning between the braces? I could not see what was happening, but it did not hurt, so I figured that it was okay?
When I spit out all of the bits of gum that came off, I was a little worried that there may have been more taken off than need be, but it really did not hurt. I got home around ten-thirty and pretty much the moment I got into the door, the phone rang: it was CY, and he was at the building.
So I let him in and started cleaning up the rest of the apartment while he was setting up his new laptop. He had just received the laptop the night before, which was really good timing since he had to return the work laptop. I told him to start installing the games, but with the first application he installed, his system immediately blue screened. Repeated attempts to reboot failed, and it looked as if we had broken his laptop, less than a day after he picked it up. With the recovery disk at his home, we had no option but to call the support line, and they were able to get his laptop back up and running again! We found a different way to install the software, and we were off to the races! EK arrived a little before we had CY's laptop running, and HKL appeared soon afterwards. The four of us ordered lunch and played Warcraft III for a couple of hours before MF showed up. While MF was setting up, Werdna, Derelict, and Laz arrived in quick enough succession that I had no way to play the game. We ended up playing some Warcraft III and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade for the rest of the night. I did not play all that well, but I think everyone had fun, and that was the point of it all was it not?
