[9:43 AM EDT - The poppies and the popos are out.]

It is the day after Halloween and the poppies have come out in force. I should find my poppy, but I do not want to put it on my bike jacket lest I lose it on the highway.

It was chilly this morning and I was not the only rider on the road. Just before I got to work, two police men on bikes rode by while I was stopped at an intersection. One of them nodded at me, so I gave him a salute. I also saluted some guy on a scooter who nodded at me.

[10:26 AM EDT - Dream Sequence: A rat in a cage.]

There was not much I recall from the dream from this morning, but it was so stressful keeping the cage together that it somehow stuck in my memory.

There was some sort of mouse/rat infestation in this room, and I had the brilliant idea of dabbing some sort of spices on our resident cat that would attract the rodents. I do not remember the recipe, but the concoction was so attractive to the rats that even the 'Pied Piper' would have trouble leading them away.

Well, we position the cat at the wall where the mouse hole was and mice immediately started coming out, lured by the scent. The cat immediately pounced and gobbled each rodent as it emerged from the hole. There were so many of them that I was worried that the cat would get too full or too bored and eventually stop catching them. I was right. After several minutes, the cat had caught a large rat but was a little unsure as to what to do with it.

I picked up the creature and dumped it into a large plastic organizer (used for stationary and utensils). The organizer was about the size of a small filing cabinet. But the top and the sides open up so I had to make sure that the doors stayed closed. I should have checked them before I threw the rat inside as they were not locked, so I kept my hands on the sides and top of the container as the rat was jumping up and banging against the top and sides to escape.

Someone came up to ask me what I was doing, and so I opened up the side, fished the dirty rat out, and showed it to her.

[10:34 PM EDT - A wee bit cold to ride.]

Well, I just got back from CY's farewell dinner (i.e. wing night). I wanted to ride because I felt like riding. Unfortunately, I did not factor in how cold it was going to get tonight. The ride to work was okay. The ride up to the restaurant was chilly. The ride back home from the restaurant was freezing! I was literally shivering in my seat for five minutes before I got used to the cold. In other words, my legs went numb. The rest of me was okay, but I probably should have prepared better considering that I did go back to my apartment.

Speaking of which, I was able to pick up the new closet doors with Derelict's help. I have not been able to install them yet, as we were pressed for time since we were late for dinner, so now they are sitting in my dining area. They are pretty big. I hope to get them up by this weekend.
