[Sunday, May 27, 2007: Baptism trip.]

The plan for today was to go to LD's baptism with my parents. I had wanted to ride out, but my mom vetoed me, telling me that I should dress up and take the car. Since I was carpooling, and since I had hockey tonight, and since was meeting at their house (although my condo was on the way), I took the car instead of the bike.

I got to my parent's place and found out that my mom was sick, which meant that the plans had changed. I was going to go with KW instead. They were picking up VW and grandma, so I was to meet them at grandma's place. My grandma (and my parents) thought that the baptism was being held at one o'clock, but KW told us that we had plenty of time since the baptism was being held at two. Sure enough, when one o'clock rolled around, we got a call from MD asking us where we were.

Oops. At least we were only fifteen minutes late.

The baptism was nice, and we met a lot of people from the other side of the family (whom we had not seen since the wedding). There was a ton of food. We had a whole roast pig and shrimp.. for an appetizer! There was so much food left they were giving all of it away. I brought home a large plate full of roast beef (which was really good), chicken (which was okay) and sausages (which was really good). And that only scratched the surface of the left overs.

After the meal (which fell between lunch and dinner), we headed to their house, where we hung for a bit before heading back into town.

I got a call from TT that afternoon asking me for help since his battery died, but since I was out of town, I could not help him. Well, after we got back, he called again and told me that he was unable to get his car started (everyone with a car was out for the long weekend). So we agreed to meet up at a subway station and I would give him a ride to the game. That made my time tight since I had to drive VW home as well, and getting his equipment and body in with all the stuff in my car required some rearranging. It all fit though, so I was happy about that, and we did make it to the hockey game at a semi-respectable time. The game was pretty good too, considering how few people showed up.

I ended up driving TT home and helped him jump start his truck. Apparently his jumper cables did not work, but I had my set so things ended up good in the end.
