[Monday, October 3, 2005: Farewell KW.]

KW held her farewell party tonight, and I was assigned the duty of picking her up, which was good for me because it meant that the party wouldn't be able to start until we arrived, and if we were early, then that was okay too since she had to be there early.

We got to the place a little bit late, but nobody else was around so we wandered around a bit to find out what was available. The food was mighty expensive, but the go karts looked good and the mini putt looked good too. VC was the first to arrive. He had apparently come by the week before because he had thought that the party was that Friday!

Eventually more people began to pour in and it began to feel like more like a party. Then I saw W and initially I thought that it was MasterStorm! Once I heard his voice, I knew that it wasn't him, but the resemblance was uncanny.

Eventually, there were enough of us to go and play some mini putt and take a ride on the go karts. Most of the guys decided to take the package and buy a go kart ticket and mini putt ticket. Go karting came first as they were going to be closing down the track eventually. One of the employees asked if anyone wanted the fastest car, and I raised my hand. He pointed to the last car in the row and told me that number ten was the fastest car.

Since I was the last to get out of the starting position, I was pretty giddy and itching to get out. But I was a little disappointed with the acceleration of the car, as well as the speed that I could attain with it. When I realized that I wasn't making up speed on anyone despite having the pedal to the metal, I knew that I was had: Car 10 as actually one of the slowest on the track! Argh!

Well, maybe it would've been faster if it had warmed up? But I still had no luck despite trying to corner the best that I could.

I was only passed twice. Once by TM who was the first car (and warmed up to boot), and once by DWC who had the fastest car on the track. Ah well, I did fairly well despite those two events.

When we finished, even more people had shown up, and our whole group went over to go mini putting. We couldn't go all at once, but the lady suggested that we form groups of four, as six would take too long. I decided to practise my putts while the groups were being formed, and TM followed me. (Or was it the other way around?)

I ended up putting with TM and N as they basically forgot about us. The three of us were the last group of our party but we were pretty quick (probably because we only had three people) and kept up with the next group. TM and I were battling around but I kept getting the balls in for some reason (I got two holes in one). At around the seventh hole, I heard someone in the distance shout,

"Gumby!"

So I returned the call. The next call was louder. We continued this game of Marco Polo until she she found me. (It took about six calls but it was dark and I was on a bridge and hidden away.)

We chatted for a bit before we got kicked out of the park. As people were getting hungry, and not everyone wanted to go downtown, the majority of us went to dinner at Yorkdale. I wasn't hungry, and I wasn't feeling good, so I only had a little bit of an appetizer.

Just about everybody left, but I ended up driving PL, PY, KW, and W downtown to a friend's place. (Someone who I never met before.) It took some time to get there and more to find a parking spot. Apparently there's a spot on Spadina just south of King where you can park on the street for free. It's not a big spot, but you can park there after midnight. We found the spot without any problems, but the guy behind me honked since I had stopped the car.

We stayed at the condo for a couple of hours. A few more of KW's friends showed up. I recognized EK, but I was way too tired to converse with anybody.

I did meet one girl who seemed awfully friendly. She even followed us out the door as we were leaving. But as I said before, I was too tired to socialize.

I ended up driving PL and PY home before showing KW my condo (which was near where she was living). Then I hit the sack.
