Uh oh. The computer doesn't look very stable. When I'm accessing the CMOS, I'm getting funny characters showing up every now and then. I'm not sure if it's because of the CPU, or the BIOS, or the memory, or what..

are the corruptions consistent, or wonky. The former could be a video memory problem (bad memory, bad connection, speed problem) while the latter could be a bunch of other problems (power issues, bandwidth for display fifos). but hey, it's only the vga, right? You could probably just ignore it if everything else is okay.

The corruptions were wonky and unpredictable, but it works with the new graphics card.
