[10:01 AM EST - November Rain.]

We're getting crazy flooding around here with all the rain. Apparently it's going to snow tonight, so driving will be a little crazy for the next little while.

[10:05 AM EST - Still digesting.]

Ugh, this is the season of food indeed. I can foresee people gaining ten pounds in the next couple of months from all of these Christmas meals.

[7:43 PM EST - Bomberserfs.]

I keep forgetting to mention this, but when I was reading Microserfs, I came across a chapter where the protagonist ends up going to Canada to pick someone up. In fact, he goes to Waterloo, Ontario. More specifically, the University of Waterloo. Apart from the usual comments about the cold weather, there was a passage, where he goes into the Bomber (Bomb Shelter) to meet with one of the students. I was a little amazed that Coupland actually went into this aside at all, but yeah, I just wanted to mention that.

While I'm on this topic, The Bomber is now open again after being closed at the beginning of the year.

[Saturday, November 29, 2003: Oasis of music.]

I went downtown to watch PL play. I got there a little later than I had planned (I did leave a little late thanks to Max Payne 2). When I was looking at the map of the area, I noticed that one of the streets nearby was De Grassi Street.

<- light bulb goes off.

Is that where.. Naw! Maybe? I remember seeing a couple of episodes of Kids of Degrassi Street in elementry school when it was raining during lunch. So I figured that I should at least drive down the street to see what it looked like. Well, I ended up driving through that (one way) street more than once. I couldn't seem to find any good parking in the area! I drove around in circles for twenty minutes before I saw someone pull out of a parking spot. So I took the spot and got out to make sure it was a valid parknig area. As I looked up, I saw the sign for the store in front of me. "Oasis". Sweet.

Anyway, even though I got there late, the gig started late as well, and it was LONG. PL wasn't scheduled to go up until 12:30, but they were running behind schedule and they ddin't get on until oneish. Most of the patrons had gone home. But the music was good, and it was enjoyable. I probably would've stuck around if they went out for food, but the group was heading to another bar, so I headed home after the set. (Which was truncated to half it's planned length.)

Oh yeah, there was one thing that did surprise me. When I ordered a drink, I asked for my usual iced tea. The bartender told me that they didn't have any. No iced tea? *scratches head* Okay, at least that made my night a lot cheaper.

<- orders water.
