Grr, this connection keeps going down on me. Err, poor choice of words. Umm, the connection keeps dying on me for some reason. I lost my last "short" entry because it wasn't short enough.
Anyhoo, badminton last night was okay. I didn't play all that well, but I got a bit of exercise in. I've gone through some more of those old chess games. I'm tempted to type them up. I did actually do that once with Chessmaster 2000, but to get them back, I'll have to put the old Atari system back together again and find that darned disk. I think I'll let that one rest in piece. There must me some sort of java applet out there that will read chess moves and show them on a board..
I found this link from the ShackNews amusing. Apparently playing video games increases your IQ. I wonder where the original study is.
I didn't play all to hot in broomball tonight. It was good exercise though. My head's still full of those chess games which I played years ago. I'm interested in playing again, but I definitely don't have the time. (I wonder if I still have the patience?)
On the way back from broomball, I came up behind a white station wagon. Strange, I thought to myself, it would be so funny that it was girl in that car. I drove up closer and looked at the license plate. *blink* I did a double take. I know my night vision is poor, and that I need new glasses, but I could've sworn that it was the same license plate. *looks closer* It IS! Well sonofagun! Hmm, now the question was, what was I going to do about it? I continued to tail the car and wondered if I should flash or honk. I sure as heck didn't want to end up rear ending the car because that would look bad, especially to the insurers.
So I tailed the car, then passed the car, and tried to wave and stuff, but got no reaction. Eventually, I decided to high beam the car, but got no reaction, and since I ended up flashing everyone around me, I didn't want to do it too often. Eventually, I pulled up next to girl at a red light and waved, and waved, and waved, and FINALLY she noticed! (Geez, speak of paying attention to the road.)
Anyhoo, I found that interesting. How often do you end up on the road next to someone you know and recognize them? I personally don't tend to notice people in their cars, or even the car itself unless it was unique in some way. Maybe I should drive something out of the ordinary..

Do you pay extra for a "connection" that does that sort of thing?

there was a bruhaha back in the late nineties about an ad with a picture of a woman on it, and the caption was something to the effect of "Neither the woman nor the servers will go down on you".. Oh here's a good page:
