I've got a few links to throw up. All of these links are scientifically related. The first is from the ShackNews about the weakening of the Earth's magnetic field. I've been hearing about this for the past few years now, but I don't see anyone really worrying about it too much. Since it will still take centuries before the magnetic field disappears (if at all) we'll probably run out of oil by then.
The other two are from ArsTechnica and both talk about nanowires. U. Penn. makes them from polymers, while Harvard makes them with CVD.
