We were playing 'Cranium (board game)' at the cottage this past weekend and I was given the task to hum a song. Namely, Gowan's (You're a) Strange Animal. This was a club challenge, but my opponent had no idea what the song was! So I thought I was home free. So I started humming the chorus. Except that all of my teammates had these blank stares on their faces. I was a little dumbstruck too. I continued on, even humming loud enough for the other team to hear, but none of them had any idea what I was humming.
Just to note, I was not the oldest one there. In fact, there were a few people in their thirties playing this game, so I figured that at least one of them lived through the eighties.
Gah, in the end, I gave up. After the song name was read aloud, I was surprised to hear that nobody knew what the song was (or who 'Lawrence Gowan' was).
