[Tuesday, September 15, 2009: First full day.]

I got up early due to the noise in the cottage and the light streaming through the window. Staying up late the night before did not pay off it seems. MJNL was still sleeping so I went down to the docks to check out the water. MIBAgentQ and BL wanted to go for a canoe ride, so I joined with them. The lake itself was small and isolated, and with the lack of wind that morning, meant that the only thing making ripples in the water were our paddles, the canoe, and the insects that were scrambling away from us.

We rowed to the other side of the lake where the outlet was. The area was sheltered by small cliffs and a lot of trees, so that the water reflected the sky and trees like a perfect mirror. I should have brought my camera. The creek was dammed, I guess to keep the water levels up. The dam was composed of debris and garbage, so I stayed in the canoe while the other two explored the area for a bit. I was a little surprised that I did not smell anything bad, but then again, my allergies were slowly acting up and I could not really smell much at all. There was an old beaver lodge amongst the lily pads at another end of the lake, but we decided to head back.

The dads were all out fishing and had pretty good luck with catching some large game.

I can not really recall what we did for the rest of the day, but I know there was a lot of eating, playing games, and relaxing.
