MJNL and I went out with a couple of her co-workers to go rock climbing this afternoon! We went to Joe Rockhead's downtown for a beginner's lesson. I had gone rock climbing before, but I never did have a formal lesson.
It was pretty fun though, and I was my knowledge was refreshed with the lesson. I do not recall knowing how to read the difficulty indicators for each climb, but the ones we found on the beginner wall were a little easy. There were a couple that required a little work, but I found that I could not do any of the harder ones in the main climbing area. (5.7 is my limit right now.)
Then again, by the time I started trying the harder climbs, my forearms were already really sore. Perhaps next time when I am a little more rested..
After the climb, we all went to the School Bakery and Cafe for brunch. The food was pretty good, but for some reason I felt really stuffed after my meal, and had no appetite for the rest of the day (and night).
MJNL and I went back home where I took a quick shower, and then we headed to Etienne's place for a board game night. OM and Dee were there, but that was about it for high school attendees. I ended up trying out this game called 'Acquire'. The rules are fairly simple, but requires a bit of strategic planning and some luck.
There was also a lot of food at the party, but I was in no mood to eat. It was a combination of the late brunch and my cold.
Afterward, I dropped MJNL at home and headed to hockey, where our team promptly lost. Again.
