[Tuesday, September 15, 2009: The second day.]

We had another relatively early morning today. MJNL wanted to go canoeing since she missed out yesterday, but before then we decided to go for a hike. One of the owners mentioned that there was a hiking trail a bit further back that would lead us around to the other side of the lake, so HakkaKa, AL, MJNL, and I went walking.

He also mentioned that there were some steep spots.

Yes, there were certainly some steep spots. But I found the hike quite doable, although relatively boring, as the path wove through the forest and did not have any areas where we could look out and see the lake. The path eventually ended at another cottage that was empty at that time. I do not think it was abandoned though, but it was hard to tell without a closer examination and we were not planning to hang around.

After we got back, MJNL and I went canoeing with RL We headed to the area of the lake that was covered with lily pads and discovered that it had silted up in a lot of places. Apparently some of the mounds of silt stank and we got stuck a number of times. Fortunately we did not have to get out to push nor did we capsize the canoe. (It was a very finicky canoe.)

After we got back, we played some more games and just chilled for the rest of the day.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that they had a hot tub there. I took advantage of it on Saturday, but was not in the mood to use it today.

For dinner, we ate a number of the fish that BL and our dads caught. The fish was pretty good actually. I wonder if there will still be any in the lake next year?
