[10:31 PM EDT - Day of cleaning.]

Sundays have been a day of cleaning and catching up on work and chores, and today was no exception. The plan was to do something that I had been meaning to do for years: cleaning my wardrobe.

When I say "cleaning", I mean going through all of my clothes (that I have here) and throwing out anything that did not fit or was way out of style and reorganizing the closet. I had MJNL help me out (after a two hour brunch), which was good because if I was just doing this by myself, nothing would get thrown out, and I would be in the same boat as I am now: lots of clothes and no where to put them. To that end, I had picked up some extra clothes hangers yesterday which came in very handy.

I finally went through that pile of clothing that people have given me over the past year (or two), and got rid of a lot of clothes that did not fit, or more importantly, clothes that nobody else would be caught dead wearing. I did keep my ripped jeans, on the premise that they would only be indoor pants.

In addition, I was shown how to save space by doubling up on clothes hangers and to use them to hang pants as well. I ended up getting rid of about two large bags of clothes, which in addition to the space saving methods, freed up enough room to find a home for all of my new clothes, clear up space for anything new, and allowed me to move some linens into the actual linen area (rather than to put clothes in there). Yay us!

In addition, we washed all the dishes, did laundry, watched 'Iris', and put together a lot of stuff to bring home to my parents. We also ate most of the leftovers and perishables, so I think this Sunday was pretty productive overall. It certainly is much more productive than spending all day in front of a computer!

I still have a few more chores to complete, but I am pretty happy with what we did today. Next week I hope to get the rest of this stuff (non-clothing related) cleaned up and this place should be presentable to visitors!
