I was talking with GWG yesterday about houses and he mentioned that alleged marijuana grow houses are sold really cheap, but are usually sold as is and tend to be uninhabitable. I thought that it would be a nice investment opportunity but he mentioned that the house may always be labeled as a marijuana grow house, which would make resale difficult.
I wonder if it would be worth tearing down the house and rebuilding instead?

So Pluto is a planet no more! Well, that is to say that it is not classified as a 'planet' anymore. The IAU defined a planet to be:
The IAU members gathered at the 2006 General Assembly agreed that a "planet" is defined as a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (c) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit.
I personally agree with dropping the planet designation on Pluto, although I worry that one day we'll encounter a system with a binary "planet" in orbit around a star. By the definition given above, neither object is technically a planet right? (Think 'Pluto' and Charon but at a larger scale.)
Oh wait, the definition said "Sun". Does that mean that extra-solar "planets" aren't?

The plan for today was to head down to the shop to get ourselves measured for the tuxedos. Only Growly, my dad, and I were available in the area, but that was more than enough to get the ball rolling.
Unfortunately I don't remember all that much. The employee wasn't the fastest car on the lot, and I nearly laughed out loud when he was writing Growly's name on the slip. Growly was telling the guy his name and he was repeating it out loud. I forgot what he said though! I think it he said "Heavy".
In any case, Growly and I wandered around the mall looking for a nice housewarming gift for theMediaman and SF. It took us the better part of an hour to find something that wasn't an article of clothing and was something that someone may want to actually have displayed in their home.
The party itself was good, I spent most of the night gorging on the hors d'ouvres.
