[Monday, September 4, 2006: Wedding shower reception.]

I had a wedding to attend to in the afternoon. The church was located very near to my condo, but the weather had turned to rain and my plans on walking/riding down to the church got washed away. It was too bad, but.. isn't it ironic? Don't you think? (Well, not really.)

The wedding ceremony was pretty standard. I met a few CAHL players who were invited to the wedding, and I recognized one other person there. We were all given either a flower with a bell (for the ladies) or a vial of bubble fluid (for the gentlemen and me). The idea was to ring the bells and blow bubbles as the newlyweds came down the aisle. However, at the beginning of the ceremony, the minister told us not to blow bubbles inside the church, and to do it outside.

So when the bride and groom walked down the aisle to the doors, there was a pause, and they walked right back inside. It was still raining (duh) so there was no bubble blowing and all of the pictures were taking inside the church.

I went home afterwards and spent the time in between making some food and cleaning out the filters. I'm trying out one of those adjustable washable filters. It was expensive, but it seems pretty good, and despite the fact that my filter size was non-standard, I was able to force the filter to fit. I've got some extra filter, which I'll probably use in the bathroom fan. I tried cleaning the bathroom fan last year and it was a pain in the neck. No really! I had to keep my head and arms up since the fan was not detachable, and the dust was caked on so I had to use a hard object (like a chopstick) to scrape off the grime. It was not a pleasant experience, and the less often I have to do it, the better.

Since I still had time before the reception, I wandered up to the baby shower to show my face. There was so much food there! Good lord! It's too bad I already had dinner plans..

So I went to the reception. I met up with Windelynn and I saw a few more people from the CAHL who didn't make it for the ceremony. Umm.. yeah, it was your typical Chinese reception type.. reception.

I can't think of anything else really.
