I had to drop a large package off at the FedEx depot after work. Most of the FedEx locations were closed by the time I left, but fortunately one allows next day deliveries to be collected until seven-thirty. We do have a FedEx drop off point in the building itself, but it seems to only have stuff for small packages, and the container didn't seem to be designed to handle a package of our size, so I was left with transporting the box over to the depot.
As I was leaving work, I noticed that the FedEx truck was just about ready to leave the building after making it's pickup. I caught up to it at the lights and played on a hunch which relied on two assumptions:
There were a number of routes that I had in my mind that could make it to the depot in a reasonable amount of time, but I wasn't sure which one was the optimal one since I wasn't sure what the traffic patterns were and the conditions at the time. With those two assumptions above, my hunch was that it would take the quickest route to the depot. I put my hypothesis to the test.
I followed the truck all the way to the depot, taking one of the better routes that was in my head. I was thinking that there may have been a better one, but we still made very good time and I could have been wrong. I wonder if I freaked out the truck driver, since I was on his tail all the way down and didn't bother passing..

Okay, so I've had these packages of black bean drink sitting in my fridge for the past few months. I wasn't feeling all that good or hungry so I decided to just have something to drink before going to bed instead of eating. (Besides, I've been gorging for the past couple of days.)
Well, I opened up one of the packages and poured it into a cup. Since I've never had this drink before, I didn't know what to expect. However, I didn't expect the drink to come out light grey. In addition, it was a little thick. I took a sip and it tasted mostly sour. I decided to dump it. (After thoroughly washing my mouth.)
Since I had several packets, I decided to try another one. It was the same, but this one was a little sweeter. I turfed it too.
I checked the best before date: 09 01. Hey, at least it had not expired yet.

I had checked the weather reports for today and the meteorologists had predicted that it would cloud over during the day with no mention of rain. There was something on The Weather Network that indicated a chance of showers in the evening, but that was about it.
So I didn't worry all too much when it started getting dark in the late afternoon.
Just before I was ready to leave, I got a message from GWG,
"You biked today didn't you?"
So I looked outside. It was raining.
Son of a motherless goat!!
I knew that it was supposed to rain later in the evening, so I didn't think there was going to be any sort of break once the rain had started. I checked the website again and there was no mention or indication of rain on any of the local reports. Garbage! (In fact, both Toronto and Markham were "partially cloudy".)
So I rode home in the rain.
To add insult to injury, poor weather tends to slow down traffic as it deteriorates driving conditions. So not only did I ride in the rain, I was stuck in traffic while I was sitting in the rain. Oh joy.
At least I got to wipe down my bike afterwards.

Well, I just through all my fruit in one sitting. Something about not feeling like eating anything else I guess.
I wonder how it will come out in the wash?

Windelynn passed along a funky clip for Star Trek 2.0 and from there I found out some group had put together a music video for Star Trekkin.
