There is supposed to be rain in the forecast today, and it's already looking very dark and foreboding outside. I got into the office too late to find a covered spot and now my bike is sitting out exposed. I'll try to move it at lunch, but on the way home I'll need a half-hour window of clear weather to make it back..

I should have thought of this someone posted it on the Markham Motorcycle board.
One thing that bothers me is that even though it doesn't allow a bullet to pass through, the energy of the bullet will still have to be dissipated somehow and that energy will still get transferred through the material. There shouldn't be any penetrating damage, but chances are that serious injury can still occur.
Actually, that should be non-Newtonian armor..

I had parked my bike in the open when I got into work this morning, but I wanted it in a sheltered area during the afternoon as I wasn't sure if it was going to rain or not. I went out during lunch and basically waited in the parking lot until someone pulled out from one of the covered spaces. Once a spot became available, I quickly pounced on it. Since I wasn't actually going anywhere, I only brought my helmet outside and this is my first time riding without any equipment (other than a helmet). It was.. not bad. I felt exposed yes, but it wasn't bad..
I'm still wearing equipment on the way back though.
