[11:44 AM EST - In need of a little more sleep.]

I went to bed later than I had wanted to last night, so I'm feeling a little tired right now. Oh well, I've got a few things to do and some stuff to catch up on.

[Monday, December 6, 2004: Children of the Grudge.]

The plan today was to watch 'Ju On: The Grudge'. (Which is actually a second sequel to 'Ju On'.) Than that was it.

I didn't have anything to do, so I did a lot of work on the website. (Doing the final touches on the popup-less format.)

During brunch, I turned on the television, and switched to the Space channel. A name appeared on the screen:

"Frank Herbert's"

The name felt very familiar. Then I saw that it was the movie 'Children of Dune'. So I sat down to watch it (in between bouts of programming).

It was okay. I really should read the books, but I read some synopses instead. Boy does it ever get confusing.

After the movie, I got a call from Dangerman. Apparently they didn't have the movie.

Wha..? He was relying on Pokey to bring it, but Pokey couldn't find it. He checked with Laz, but he didn't have a copy, so it fell onto my shoulders to get a copy before watching it that night. There goes my trip to Future Shop.

I headed out to the store to get it. Unfortunately, I had not bothered to ask or look up what the Japanese symbols were for the name. This would prove, very annoying. I found quite a number of stores which sold DVDs, but the ones I found mostly dealt with anime. Had I been ten years younger, this would've been a mecca, but I'm pretty much over that phase, so I tried skimming through the mostly indecipherable titles on the shelves. After half an hour of fruitless searching, I asked one of the patrons if they had 'Ju On'. He looked at me funny and asked me if that was the Chinese name. Next store.

Fortunately, the second store had a very good possibility. I saw a DVD which had this creepy boy on it, but all of the words were in Japanese so I couldn't figure out if it was the one I was looking for. So I asked the lady if they had 'Ju On'. She pointed at that DVD. Sweet! I had it checked out and asked what the price was: Three for twenty.

Three? You mean I need to get two more?!? So I spent another five minutes scouring through the shelves looking for a movie that I might actually want to see. (No pr0n section unfortunately.)

After that, I drove on down to Dangerman's place and was just in time for the food! Yummy! There were a number of people who were invited, like Growly, and Laz, and Pokey, but out of the ten or so people who were invited, only four showed up to watch. Great. Two girls, Dangerman, and me.

Although Dangerman really didn't see much of the movie because Pokey and her friend did drop by and he "had" to go outside to entertain them. (Leaving me and the two girls to figure out what was going on in the film.)

The movie itself wasn't as bad as 'Ringu', but it had it's moments. I think what detracted from the story the most was that it wasn't as understandable as 'Ringu'. We didn't know how the curse was passed on. It was a bit more of a standard suspense/thriller type movie than 'Ringu' as well.

Well, there is the original and the sequel (which I got), so there's still hope for something really scary?

After the girls left, Dangerman and I played some cooperative Halo 2. It was quite fun actually, although the TV was a little small..
