[10:38 AM EDT - Taking it easy.]

Ugh, my knee's still not quite up to snuff so I probably will skip out on hockey tonight. I've got the CN Tower climb tomorrow so I don't want to overextert myself. I may have to skip out on roller hockey as well. *sigh*

Apparently there's an ultimate practice on Sunday at the same place and time as last time. Oh boy, where is my time going?

[Saturday, April 26, 2003: KW ho!]

I left work late yet again today. This time only an hour late, so that the party started before I left the house. Too bad the party was an hour-and-a-half drive away!

The drive was okay and fairly uneventful. I took a picture of the dash when the counter went over three hundred thousand kilometers just to prove that I noticed. (I noticed!)

The only exciting part of the drive happened as I was approaching the exit. The engine suddenly stopped. The lights were on, the radio was still blaring, but the engine was dead. I pressed on the gas pedal. Nothing. I tried starting the car. Nothing. I looked at the gas gauge. It read a quarter full.

All signs point to me being out of gas, but the indicator wasn't telling me that. Mind you, the indicator might be wrong..

So I turned on my hazard lights and started to pull over. I sat on the side for a while to think of what I would do. I tried starting the car again. The car started up! When I looked at the gas gauge, I saw that it was redlined and the gas indicator was on. Curses! *shakes fist*

I guess I was going so fast on the highway that a significant portion of gas was puched to the back of the tank where the indicator was, but too far away to be pulled by the pump. Well sunofa.. Hmm. I'm going to have to be careful now. There might be air in the system.

Anyway, I drove slowly to the closest gas station I could find to put in several dollars worth so that I have some piece of mind to get home.

The party was okay. The usual suspects showed up. I had to leave early though because I had to wake up early for the CN Tower climb. Ah well, at least I didn't fall asleep on the drive home (I neary did though, many times). I really should stop driving at night.
