[10:06 PM EDT - MJ all around.]

How curious. Soon after HW inquired about playing MJ this weekend, I got a message from HKL wondering if I was interested in playing MJ this weekend. What is this, Spring MJ?

To top it off, the Vermont crew wanted to have a gettogether sometime in the next week. (Friday was suggested, but I really REALLY don't think so.)

Oh, speaking of Friday, apart from my hockey game. There's something else I might need to go to..

Then throw in badminton on Wednesday, ultimate practice on Thursday (which I'll probably skip since it's downtown and starts at six), tutoring and roller hockey on Saturday not to mention the CN Tower climb. I'm glad I got my tires replaced today.

Oh yeah, tires. I drove out to Hamilton this morning and since I needed to be in at a respectable time, I got up early. Way early. Despite the fact that I got up early (6:00) and got out of the house long before I would've been concious (7:30), I got on the highway and moved ahead at a crawl. So this is why people call this "rush" hour. *snort*

I was a little worried about my tires. The left back tire was making funny noises and the right back tire was feeling flat even though I pumped it up. The entire car shook once I got to 100 kph and I swear, if it wasn't for the traffic, the car would've shaken itself apart! (One of the few good things about moving slowly.)

It took me two hours to make it to the site and I got there without a hitch! (Working with one way streets and all!) Work went by fairly quickly. I did was I was supposed to do and then went out for lunch. When I went to the nearby Tim Horton's, I went out to inspect my tires. I noticed that a couple of the lug nuts seemed to be jutting out. I tried twisting them in by hand and they went in! Argh!

<- scenes from "Changing Lanes" flash by.

I went to look for a.. whatchamacallit. It's not a crowbar, but I can't get crowbar out of my head. *points to metal jutting out* Anyway, I couldn't find it. So I tried to screw in the lug nuts in as tight as I possibly could by hand. It wasn't that tight. I was a little worried that the tire would fly off and I'd end up in a spectacular car crash in the middle of the highway during rush hour. Wouldn't that be cool to throw up?

Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that I didn't get a spoon included with my soup for lunch. *frowns* It was good soup though (beef noodle).

So the work went fairly well and things were going pretty smoothly. I drove home. Hearing that strange whiffing sound coming from my tire made so much sense now . When I turned to the right the sound disappeared, but I could feel the right rear tire giving just a little too much. When I turned to the left, the car felt solid, but the tire was making a heck of a racket. Going straight meant that I got the worse of both worlds.

In any case, I made it back in one piece (the lug nuts were basically out by that time). I'm so glad I had planned to get the tires replaced today.

So yeah, I got the tires replaced. I went to the same place as yesterday. The girl who suggested that I put the tires on hold was working there again and recognized me. One of the guys working there complained that he had wanted to take those tires. The exact same size and part too! *looks at his sheet of paper* Wow, who would've thunk? Actually, after I told him the make and model of my car, he exclaimed that he once owned a 88 Corolla GTS as well! After I mentioned that my sun roof didn't work, he told me that he still had a motor for the sun roof. *rubs chin*

He wanted to take a look at the car while it was being worked on so I went out with him to examine the damage. He and the guy working on the car mentioned that the right rear brake will probably need replacing. It doesn't seem to be working properly (using about 30% of the pad). Which meant that the front brakes are being overworked. *points to black streaks* The muffler needs to be reattached properly (very Mickey Moused he said) and the handbrake needs to be replaced (which would go along with the rear brake). The other guy later told me I needed a couple of struts as well (no surprise).

He suggested that I should bring the car in for a free brake inspection sometime. Free? Sounds like a good idea! (It all started with this engine cleaning gunk which I should get a bottle of.) Anyway, that was a pretty entertaining crew that night, plus the hockey game was on..
