The clouds had parted and we were greeted with a very sunny day today for our trip back home. Since the train was leaving in the morning, we had to wake up to finish packing and check out. We also needed their help to load up the car with all the bagels and smoked meat that we purchased on Sunday as well as most of their luggage. I was a little worried about leaving during rush hour, but I was completely surprised to see how empty the streets were as we left the city. I did not think that Quebec observed the August civic holiday.
In any case, we got out of the city with no problems, despite running into a lot of construction. Since we were doing good time and the weather was good, I took a detour down the 'Thousand Islands Parkway'. The scenery was nice, and I wanted to see what the old 401 was like through this area. Traffic was not too bad, and we saw quite a number of island houses.
We got back and dropped by my parent's place where we had a bit of lunch, reorganized the bagels and dropped off some smoked meat before heading home for some much needed rest and a shower. We had to rush to get to Mississauga for dinner with the rest of MJNL's family and to drop off the bagels and smoked meat.
We gave Jeanious and J a ride back home before going home ourselves, and was finally able to do some laundry and sleep.
