So I took a half-day vacation today so that MJNL and I could leave the city early, beat traffic, and arrive in Montreal at a respectable time. I was able to leave the office on time, and even had just enough time to eat lunch but there was no way I was going to be able to drive down to reBoot and drop off the computer, so I went straight to pick up MJNL from work.
We left at around quarter after two. Fifteen minutes later, we were sitting in traffic.
Yup, us and everyone else who left early.
I was able to take a detour that saved us a little time (only a little because I got a little lost). But after Brock Road, everything was slow. I think we were stuck for about half an hour? Maybe it was a little longer, but once we got out of the GTA, things went smoothly. In fact, the rest of the trip was fairly uneventful, except that I missed out on some really cheap gas. (I only got regularly cheap gas at the border.)
Oh, I also overshot our exit, but was able to backtrack and make it to the house.
We arrived before nine, and we stayed up to chat and eat some snacks with the L's until it was time to sleep.
