The plan was to go to a BBQ being held by MJNL's co-worker, heading to First Markham Place to look for glasses, maybe watch a movie, rush down to EK's place to play some poker, and then rush back to play hockey.
That was a lot of rushing around actually.
Or I should say, would have been a lot of rushing around. We made it out to the BBQ a little late, but half of the attendees were later than us, so we came at a good time (methinks). We had our fill of BBQ food before heading home. MJNL took a nap, and by the time she got up, it was much too late to check out glasses or watch a movie, so we went to EK's place directly. Since EK was hosting the party, we saw mostly EK's friends, although I did recognize the majority of the people there. His two cats were fun to play with too. Ooh, and they had this "cat condo" which was neat.
We stuck around for dinner and stayed until I had to leave for hockey. I won just enough in the last hand to make me break even (well, I was up a little - enough to pay for dinner), so the night was financially neutral.
Oh, and we lost the hockey game. We showed up late due to construction on the 404, but apparently the team was up 3-0 before I arrived. Then we just lost. My luck continues!
