We had two thunderstorms today. One this afternoon knocked out the power in the apartment just before we left. I went into the pitch black hallway just before the backup generator kicked in. The eerie darkness was a cool sight. I do not think I have seen the place that dark before.
MJNL and I went shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart as they were having their bonus returns for redemption. We took advantage of it today by picking up a lot of things that we thought we might need for later. We also got a couple of Nintendo DS games we thought we might play.
After that, we headed to my parent's place where we had lunch. I was initially going to go there to change the oil on my bike but the thunder storm changed those plans. We hung around there for a couple of hours before heading to MJNL's uncle's place for her grandma's birthday party.
There was tons of food, and we brought some back, but it was the ride home that was interesting. Well, not the ride per se, but the light show that we had during the ride back. The thunderstorm that hit us tonight was the most intense lightning show that I had seen in a long time. I was just surprised that there was not as much thunder as expected.
