[Monday, September 12, 2005: Bed detail.]

I got up early to get my car to the dealership to get it detailed. I got there and the guy told me that it would take two and a half hours to do. I had forgotten to bring my laptop so I wasn't actually able to do any work, so I ended up doing some shopping instead. I wandered to the mall nearby and grabbed lunch and some stuff for the house. (I also used up some of my coupons.)

I was done early, so I had to wait a little while before the car was finished. They did a good job cleaning up the car and waxing it. The car smelt good and looked clean. The mats were waxed, and the leather was treated. There were a few spots where I could see streaks, but I'm not complaining. I could see all the stone chips in my hood! Yikes, I guess I'll have to find a way to fix it up..

I went to the mall afterward since I needed to get some sheets for my new queen sized mattress. I wandered into the Bay and looked around in the store. I came across the section with all the linens and was immediately confused as to what all the stuff they were selling was for. They had bed sheets, duvet covers, bed skirts, pillow cases, etc. I had no idea what most of these fabrics were used for!

I did end up finding some bedsheets and pillowcases that were on sale. I took the black ones since they looked nifty. Then I picked up the duvet cover since.. well, it was on sale and I might as well have a matching duvet. On my way out, I noticed a model bed that was set up and labelled with some very useful notes. That's when I noticed that I should get myself a bed skirt as well (hey, it was on sale too)!

So I went to the counter with my arms full of linens, and eventually with a very large bill. (These things are darned expensive, sale or no!)

I made it back home in good time and left the windows open so that the carpet in the car would dry out. I then went into the task of rearranging my bedroom.

I had originally set up the desk to sit next to the window, and the dresser next to the closet, and the fit the bed in between the two. But after setting up the frame and box spring, I realized that it took up way too much space in the middle. The available space on the sides of the bed were small in very difficult to access. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to move the bed next to the window, and put the desk in the middle.

So I started moving stuff out of my room: my monitor, my computers, and lots of junk that took up a lot more space than they looked like they did. I then got to move the furniture. Me with my two bum wrists. Let's just say that I kept my wrists locked most of the afternoon (and night). I pulled the desk out, slipped the bed around, and pushed it into the corner. When I put the desk next to the bed, I realized that it was low enough that I could potentially roll and hit the corner with my eye. So I moved the dresser into the middle and pushed the desk against the closet.

After a few hours, I was done with moving the furniture. Then I had to move the mattress into the room. I'm glad there were handles on the thing because there was no way I would've been able to do it by myself otherwise. Funny enough, when I put the mattress on the bed, I realized that it was upside down. I had to put it back right side up, put on the sheets, and clean everything up.

I moved all my stuff back into place. That took a couple more hours. girl came by to pick up Dangerman's Xbox, and she told me about breakfast tomorrow. How can I refuse free food?
