[9:54 AM EST - Wet shoes.]

Ah ha! I think I found out the reason why my shoes were getting wet. Let me explain my situation.

For some reason, my shoes have been getting wet at the back. Not at the bottom mind you, but the entire back of the shoe gets soaked. This has been an on going problem for months now, and I couldn't figure out the cause of this. What really interested me was the fact that it was mainly my right shoe that was being affected rather than the left one. You see, when the shoe gets wet back there, the material absorbs the water and it penetrates into the shoe, soaking everything inside. Now, being winter and all, the water that's been wetting my shoes have been laden with salt, and so when the water dries up, it leaves a salt residue on the shoe. Repeated effects have left a nice layer of salt on the back of my shoe (on the outside and inside) and has made the material very crunchy.

I tried washing my shoes a little while back, but it's gotten much worse since then.

I discovered that my shoes were getting wet, not just when I went outside, but after I had gotten out of my car. That's when it hit me: my mats. They're made of rubber and don't soak the water from the slush that well, and I don't think the channels are deep enough to hold all of that snow I've been dragging into the car, so it's pooled on the bottom of the foot area, right where my heels would be. Since my clutch foot isn't always on it's heel, but my gas foot is, that explains why my right foot is getting more heavily soaked! Argh! Okay, now that I know what's going on, how am I going to fix it?

[11:10 AM EST - Dream Sequence: Brain Crabs.]

I've been getting a lot of dreams lately, but I haven't had time to write them down. Most of them were vivid enough for me to remember, but it's unfortunate that I'm unable to chronicle them until after they've drifted off into the ether.

Anyway, I found myself in a decrepit apartment building, much like those in Half-Life 2. There were a number of people living in there, but I don't think I recognized anyone. There was something going on in the building though. I was doing some snooping around, and noticed these round creatures, with six or eight long spindly legs (making it look like crabs). But they jump very high and can attach themselves to a person's head. Their pincer like legs can penetrate into a human skull and they would attach themselves to the top of his or her head. I watched in horror as a few had already attached themselves to a couple of the residents. They didn't seem all too adversely affected, but I wasn't sticking around to find out.

I ran into another apartment which had a trapdoor that lead to the basement. The door was flimsy and I wanted to investigate. When I looked down, I saw a rotting wooden stairwell, leading to some sort of sewage pipe. The pipe was full of these creatures. They started climbing up the stairs and I quickly closed the door. Unfortunately, the wood was soft and couldn't hold off the onslaught of these crabs and I ran for my life. The guy with me (it was his apartment) ran as fast as I could, and I watched as the flood enveloped countless residents.

As we ran from the building, it exploded in a fiery inferno. This got rid of those creatures inside the building but then it also ejected a mass of these crabs into the surrounding area. The creatures started to run rampant all over the city. It was time to be afraid. Very afraid..

[11:28 AM EST - More tsunami before and after.]

Speaking of Madelaine. She sent me a link to some before and after pictures of the tsunami.

[4:00 PM EST - Ground shock.]

Something funny happened after lunch. I was bending down to pick up a plastic water bottle that had dropped and I ended up getting a electric shock through my glove from the ground just as I was picking it up.

It was just a little unexpected, that's all.

[Sunday, January 30, 2005: Badminton (finally).]

I ended up skipping badminton on Monday because I was at the hill, but I didn't want to miss out tonight. I played okay, and got some exercise in.

I can't remember what else I did that night, but I was busy..
