[Sunday, August 11, 2002: Disc Supremacy.]

When I woke up this morning, I thought that the time was around nine. I was off by more than two hours. When I realized that it was already so late in the morning, I knew that I missed out on ice hockey (which started at 11:15) and the only other scheduled event I had was roller hockey, which I'll probably miss because MJO had to leave town around five. (I figured that ice hockey was okay since it was in the morning and by the time I got back, people would still be trying to figure out what to do.)

Anyhoo, after sitting around for a while and waiting for louder to arrive, we went out for lunch. We were on the lookout for a Golden Gridle (which I wasn't particularly fond of but where else could we get breakfast around here?) but came up short and had lunch at Lick's instead.

I haven't been to Lick's in a while, and it seemed.. different than last time (a while being a decade ago). There wasn't as much singing (which was okay, since the singers weren't.. the greatest.) and I wasn't exactly in the mood for burgers but the food was still pretty good.

Afterward, we went back to Laz's place and he showed us a park near his place where we threw the disc around for a couple of hours. I showed the rest of the guys how to do the flick and they all proceeded to practice it. After about an hour of play, most of them were getting quite proficient at it! (Man, do you know how long it took me to do the flick?!?)

After we got too much sun, we went back inside and started a game of Supremacy. Man, it's been a long time since I played that game. Guess what? We never attacked each other! After four turns, the world was still a peaceful place (although very much packed with armies, nukes, and L-stars, but still a pretty peaceful place).

Next time MJO comes over, I'm bringing Axis & Allies.

We never finished the game since MJO had to leave, which meant that louder had to go too (since he was driving). That left Werdna and I. So we finished up dinner (we had ordered out for pizza which came with five minutes to spare) and tried to figure out what to do.

There were some people over at Laz's place so we tried to stay inconspicuous in the basement. Well that didn't last that long. A couple of kids came downstairs to find something to do and one of the kids called us Toby (P/A/S/T/Q) started chasing me around the basement. At least I got more exercise.

We spent the rest of the night watching some GTO and.. Hikaru no go? It was some sort of anime about go. Then we played some old Sega and SNES games (Zillion was fun, and Super Bomber Man was entertaining) before going back home a little later than I had expected (around two).
