[10:47 AM EDT - I'm glad I checked.]

Oi.. I wasn't quite awake when I looked at the clock this morning, but when I checked the time, it read 10:40. Ahh! When I checked when my hockey game was, I found out that I had half-an-hour to wake up.

Hey.. then why am I updating this page?!?

[Sunday, July 21, 2002: Keep on rolling.]

Ice hockey was good as usual. Well, I didn't play particularly well, but at least lunch afterward was good. I was also able to pick up the birthday card before I went out for lunch at SDM. Playing for only an hour after we were pampered with hour-and-a-half games for the past two weeks made today's match seem awfully short. But that was fine for me since I had a lot more on my plate for today.

Oh yeah, during lunch, BL insisted that I tell them my cell phone number because they couldn't find me while I was out paying my bills. Unfortunately I didn't know what it was. CC took a look at my phone and was able to figure it out somehow. Anyway, afterward BL proclaimed,

"You are now officially 'reachable'."

I don't know if I should be afraid or not.

I stopped off at the house for a bit to get my gear and digest before heading out for roller hockey for a couple of hours. I played poorly. I was awfully tired, and I didn't get a lot of rest the night before (I got home around fiveish). In anycase, I went back home after roller hockey (I only got to play two full games), showered and then headed out for the BBQ.

The BBQ was good. There were a lot of people, and there were a bunch of kids. Mind you, my definition of "kid" encompasses more and more age groups as I grow older, so there weren't that many actual "kids".

The highlights of the night were the animal game and the homemade bottle rocket. This rocket was powered by the chemical reaction of vinegar with baking soda. Well, the propellant was vinegar, and the power came from the air pressure from the CO2. The first time we tried doing this, JW had put everything together and helt the bottle upside down, but nothing was happening for a long time. After a couple of minutes he began to complain.

"This is getting boring."

And right on cue, the bottle shot up on an instant, rising a few stories before landing on the neighbour's chimney and falling into their yard. We entertained ourselves for the next hour shooting more rockets into the backyard.

After the BBQ was yet another roller hockey game. I went after going with the rest of the kids to pick up some coffee from Second Cup. This time it was at a parking lot and we didn't actually have a lot of people playing this week. We had around eight players today, and that included the goalies. It was unfortunate since there seemed to be so much interest from the people I was talking to. Anyway, since there were so few people, I had to skate more than usual and ended up tiring myself completely by two, but played until two-thirty. I had completely run myself dry. I was amazed that I even made it home under my own power. (Well, I did drive, so it wasn't technically under my own power.)
