[1:27 PM EDT - Stuff in the morning.]

Wow, you can do so much in the morning. I usually don't get up on weekends until lunchtime, but I wanted to get my car checked up so my dad woke me up before eight so that I could go down to a garage to get it checked over. I also ended up getting the car washed (inside and out - although it still needs a bit more cleaning on both surfaces) and a hair cut. *brushes brush cut*

I've still got some money stuff to do, pictures to pick up, and houses to examine, but I still have some time today.

I also finished that puzzle last night, so I can start concentrating on the book "About a Boy" before hacking around with WCIII again.

Anyhoo, time to pick up pictures and play roller hockey!

[3:07 PM EDT - Uh oh.]

Three's a malicious worm targeting Apache servers and I think I screwed up my rpm. That, as they say, is not good. I installed a new version of rpm, but I apparently had to install everything at once. In any case, I can't seem to reinstall the old one, and I can't do anything with the new one. This is very annoying..

(The server's still vulnerable too.)

[7:43 PM EDT - Done!]

I can't believe I wasted over four hours working on this Apache problem. I was late to roller hockey because the darned libraries were either corrupted or improperly installed. I couldn't uninstall the libraries because so many other packages use them, and I couldn't upgrade the libraries for some reason. Eventually, I installed an old version of the libraries on top of the new ones, and then rpmed the new rpms with the new libraries to get the darned thing to work! This was made more annoying by the fact that I had to uninstall rpm 4 every time this didn't work. Since rpm 4 didn't work itself, I had to write ontop of it with a backup of rpm 3, uninstall rpm 4, write ontop of it again with the same backup, and then try it again.

Many itterations later, and some help from here(for the Apache patch) and here(for the recommended way to install rpm 4), I finally got the thing working. I missed half of roller hockey! *shakes fist*

[8:37 PM EDT - Starting to get paranoid..]

After those updating shenanigans, I decided to go ahead and implement most of the security suggestions offered on this page. Now all I have to do is find a good ssh client for Windoze..
