[10:05 AM EDT - Dream Sequence: A dreamy prison riot.]

I remember part of a dream from last night. I was with a police force that was trying to put down a prison riot that had broken out. These prisoners had barracaded themselves in the cafateria with a bunch of hostages. Looking inside, I recognized a few of them: DeeL, JK, and DM? Anyway, negotiations were underway and the prisoner leader let a few people go at random. He chose one guy who revealed himself to be Stonaday! What the.. apparently he was there as a reporter and dressed up like a prisoner. It was all strange. At least the soup was okay.

[7:38 PM EDT - End of the week huh?]

I'm feeling really tired for some reason. I just downloaded the rules for the World Puzzle Championship test, and I'm eager to get cracking! I got 1:11 on today's set puzzle, which seems pretty trivial now compared to the other Set game which has been making me bang my head on the wall for quite some time now.

I went out to lunch with AT, LC, LY, HL, and SB. We got into the topic of killing animals for food and AT suggested that we'd dare each other (well, LC, AT, and I) into being vegetarians for a week. I thought that would be fun, except for the fact that there woudln't be any controls in place. How would we know if someone cheated?

[7:55 PM EDT - A picture is worth..]

Heck, I noticed a link on ArsTechnica about the first JPG virus. Mind you, it needs an executable that's already on the computer to trigger the virus, but it provides yet another method by which one can infect systems..

[Sunday, June 16, 2002: There are rules?]

I went skating. There weren't any new puzzles for me to put together, so I actually didn't have an excuse not to go skating tonight. I still went later than I probably should have. I got there around ten and when I got there, the booth was empty. Dejected, I was about to turn back and go home when I noticed the notice behind the booth. Curious, I walked closer to it and began to read it. It was a list of rules for public skating. Four (out of seven) of them caught my attention: You must skate in a counter-clockwise direction, you cannot speed skate, you cannot skate backwards, and you cannot figure skate.

*blink*

Okay.. Uhh, basically then make skating as boring as possible? Okay, sure, it's safer but boy, who'd want to skate if all you did was go around in circles?

Anyhoo, I tried the door and found out that it was unlocked. With my interest piqued, I went through and headed to the viewing gallery. There I saw that there were people actually skating, and it seemed like a fairly sparce crowd. With renewed confidence, I headed down to the rink and put on my skates. Nobody really noticed me, and I didn't recognize anyone there.

I was able to get some practice in, but with the limited time, I couldn't practice my jumps that much. I want to get the Salchow again and maybe a Toe Loop. Or was it something else? Anyhoo, I definitely didn't feel up to jumping. In any case, I got my money's worth (I didn't pay after all) so I went home happy.
