[Thursday, March 26, 2009: Snap goes the handle.]

I skipped out on badminton tonight on MJNL's behest. She was worried that I might strain the foot that I had sprained on Monday. My foot is feeling a lot better now, but instead of going to badminton, we went out to dinner with PW at the Korean soup restaurant. I forgot the name, and I sure as heck cannot pronounce it even when I saw it so I would not be able to give you that information. I just remember that it had a green sign.

The food was cheap, tasty, and filling. Quite a good combination!

We were having trouble with the toilet. Pushing the handle did not seem to flush the bowl, so I took a look inside and noticed that the chain was too loose. I was not sure why the chain would be loose all of a sudden, but I tightened it when I got back home and told MJNL to try it out the next time she was in the washroom.

She told me that it still did not work. So I took a look and yes indeed, the chain was loose again! But then I realized that it was not the chain that was lose, but the bar that connected the handle to the chain had twisted at the handle. Twisting it back resulted in the bar breaking off at the handle, and I had plenty of trouble trying to get the plastic bit that was stuck inside out (even after drilling a hole into it).

So I will have to get a replacement handle for the toilet. For now, I have left the top off so we can pull the chain manually.
